    All Secondary School Events for July 22 and 23 will be held at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

    Sunday 30th July: The Alex Lithgow Premier Event for Primary Schools

    Plus all other primry school concert band events.

The first School Band Festival was organised by the Band Association of NSW in 1962. Held at Chatswood Oval, eight brass bands initially took part and marching was compulsory. The following year the event moved to the Lane Cove Town Hall, the marching taking place in the car park with bands having to wheel around parked cars!


The NSW School Band Festival is held each year in the Sir John Clancy Auditorium at the University of NSW, Kensington (in Sydney's eastern suburbs).

The Sir John Clancy Auditorium is the eastern suburbs' largest public auditorium and is ideally suited for our Festival. Click on the link below to find all you need to know about the Clancy.
